Weekly Formal & Informal Practices

This is a session-by-session guide to practices, exercises and resources to complete for the IM2 MBSR program. Each session stands alone as a learning module that addresses specific aspects of stress and overwhelm. The sessions work together to address daily stress as each participant discovers their own way and explores their innate wisdom in navigating the stress experience.

*Important: Please don't do mindful practices while driving or during tasks the require your full attention.*

**Practice begins at 60%, explores limits, yet never exceed them**

ORIENTATION
Preparing for Class

Discovering Anchors and Bases for Comfort (ABCs).

Defining MBSR and Mindful Practice.

Experiencing mindfulness non-judgmentally.

Learning about program logistics and procedures.

Committing to weekly attendance and daily practice.

Agreeing to confidentiality and not giving advice.
Practicing After Class This Week

Trying a 5 to 15 minute Awareness of Breath/Base (AOB) practice below 4 to 5 days this week.

Journal or use the Practice Notes to document your experience.

Bringing 3 or 4 raisins to Session One next week.

Reviewing program logistics and procedures here.
